Founded in 2022, RideUkraine is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing relief to Ukraine after the Russian invasion and helping to establish a self-sustainable tourism industry in Ukraine.
As the second largest country in Europe, Ukraine is full of undiscovered gems for any tourist: natural beauty, castles, and monasteries dating back to the 10th century, and more cultural experiences than one could enjoy in a lifetime. However, in times of war, we are first focusing on providing direct relief through donations to charities working on the ground, be it military, refugee, or animal charity organizations.
Our founder, Lana Tsurikova, grew up in Ukraine and discovered motorsports after moving to the United States in 1998. At the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and the shutdown of many motorsports events, she switched from autocross to motorcycle adventure riding. What started as a hobby grew into a passion, and while her first couple of years learning to adventure ride were spent preparing for the GS Trophy, the Russian invasion of Ukraine quickly changed those plans.
RideUkraine came about as a culmination of her discovery of the adventure riding community and the commitment riders have to the causes they care about.
I never thought that I would be working on the task of rebuilding my country. My home city, Kharkiv, has become unrecognizable after the war like much of the rest of the country. My heart breaks every time I see pictures of the devastation and horrors caused by Russians in my peaceful and long-suffering homeland.
I never imagined that motorsports could play an important role in this project. I’m lucky to be a part of the adventure riding community. We are all lucky that this community includes so many amazing people. Together we can make a difference.
